Finding a reliable auto shipping company at economical service charges is not an easy task. You will need to confirm the legitimacy of company. Moreover, only skilled auto shippers can ship your vehicle successfully. As the skills come with time, it means people must go to experienced car transporters in the industry. Using a Terminal–to–Terminal Auto Shipping Service: Pros and Cons

Terminals are sparsely used in the auto shipping industry, but can be beneficial when needed for storing vehicles for a short period before and after the automobile transportation process. Pro : Terminal-to-terminal auto transport is best used when the pickup and delivery location is in a large city or metropolitan area. People that are visiting these large areas would benefit the most because they can drop off or pickup their cars at their convenience. Others might use a terminal when the car shipment is going overseas or to Hawaii or Alaska. These types of shipments require a traditional auto shipper to transport the car from one location to a port or terminal, where it can be stored for a number of days until it is ready to transfered using a ferry or on a container shipping boat.
Con: Terminals are large open parking lots. Your car will be exposed to the elements and might suffer weather damage. Also, security may not be provided at all locations, and there is no guarantee that your vehicle will not be stolen or vandalized. Furthermore, your vehicle is loaded and unloaded on and off the car hauler several times during the terminal transport, thus also increasing the chances of your vehicle getting damaged. There is also no additional insurance offered in case of such incidents. Basically, when using a terminal you are bearing the risk with the safety of your vehicle.
Pro: Most terminals are open 24 hours, so you can schedule the drop and pick up at any time. If for some reason you can`t fetch your car for a few days after it has arrived to its destination, you might be able to store it there for an extended period at additional fee.
Con: You will need to make the time to drive to the terminal for pickup and drop-offs. Arrange for a cab or someone you know to give you a ride for the trips from and later to the terminal to retrieve your vehicle.
Pro: Lower auto shipping rates are offered when using terminals since the actual work done by the auto transporter is a lot less.
Con: If you are not acquainted with the company policies on storage for delays or late pickups, you might end up paying more in the long run. There are also the two trips for which your car will not be available – they might be quite costly and time consuming if you`re not in an immediate proximity to the cities where the terminals are located.
Bottom line is that you need to carefully consider and calculate all aspects, before going one way or the other. Hopefully this list of pros and cons of using a terminal–to–terminal auto shipping service will help you make a good choice.

Enclosed Car Carrier Benefits

Enclosed car shipping is an alternative to open car shipping. Open auto transport is the most common form of automobile transport, although open auto shipping is a very safe form of transporting your car, it does not offer a 360 degree protection of your car from dirt, the elements and bad weather.
Enclosed auto transport offers the protection you will need when transporting a classic, exotic, luxury, or that new or special car which needs an extra level of protection. Here are a few benefits to using an enclosed car carrier over an open car hauler.

  • Enclosed car carriers also carry the maximum in cargo insurance; most policies are $500,000 to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage for all units on the enclosed car hauler.
  • Enclosed car shipping drivers are all well trained and knowledgeable in all classic and new exotic car models to be sure each unit is handled with the care the car needs. They are the best drivers in the industry.
  • Weather will not be an issue on an enclosed car carrier; your car is protected from all normal road hazards and any and all inclement weather.
  • Enclosed car shipping will be more expensive because of these factors, call a Paragon transport specialist today to get a quote on your enclosed car shipment.
  • Deciding to ship a car in an enclosed car carrier will give you that peace of mind while your classic, exotic, luxury, or special car is being transported across country.

Reasons How the Car Transporters Evolved

While auto shipping reviews help you to look for the feedback of the past users, they also help you to experience what it would be like if you hired one specific company for which the users have written reviews and testimonials. This is one good way of identifying how the company will work and facilitate you while you have to move from one place to another and make sure that with all your belongings, the vehicles you own are safely transported from one place to another as well.
People who started to move very frequently have every reason to do so in the current times. This is not because they love to move and switch places, but they need to move because they are not able to find good employment opportunities in the places where they already live. Nowadays with the advent of increased inflation, and the economic factors hitting the markets, the people are not able to retain their jobs, heavy downsizing is in order at every company, and people in the company want to cut costs to manage their budgets.
Similar is the case with people who want to find more jobs. People leave their own jobs in the hope to find better job opportunities but they do not know that in their countries due to the global economic crisis, the markets have been having more than 60% unemployment rate (specific to underdeveloped and developing countries).
People also sometime move when they feel threatened because of the living standards in their old living places. They want to live happy lives and for that, they move on to different far off places.
These all above reasons led to the evolution of the car transport industry. The car transporters have tried to offer many services for the convenience of the users who want to transport all their stuff with their cars as well. This is the same case and a window of opportunity for the movers and packers as well. If you are one of the same people who are shifting from one place to another and want to look for the movers and packers, and more or less the car transporters, then the best way is to search for them online through the reviews and the user testimony websites, just like reviews on this site www.autotransportdepot.com/auto-shipping-reviews.
The user review sections, the websites of these companies and the word of mouth of the people around you who have experienced such companies and their services are the best information sources for you to know how to hire the companies, which companies are reliable, and which are reliable and affordable. Log on to other blogs as well for details online.

International Car Theft Export Ring Busted

There has been a large number of exporting going on in the United States as of lately and much has to do with the inflated vehicle prices around the world. It is cheaper to purchase a vehicle in the US and pay all of the import/export fees rather than purchase the vehicle in your own country. Well, it seems some think that it’s even CHEAPER to just steal the vehicles and throw them on the boat to ship to the buyers, rather than take the proper steps through customs. Not so fast, thieves!! Law enforcement agencies, both federal and state, have announced the breakup of one of the larger car theft export rings. Several people have been charged with the theft of a multitude of vehicles in the NY and NJ area, and exporting them to Africa from the area’s seaports.
20 federal, state and local agencies announced the arrests of 11 of the 19 persons who are charged with the theft of the several high value automobiles. The buyers of these vehicles were willing to pay a much higher ticket than what market value suggests, but bad news hits the shores of Africa instead of the boat loads of vehicles. There are many ill effects of these types of operations, including but not limited to crime, carjackings and robberies. When something is done illegally, our safety and quality of life diminish along the way.
Our economy, in many ways, is also negatively impacted as well through situations like these. For example, not only are our citizens deprived of their personal property, but theft patterns in specific areas will result in higher insurance premiums for residents within that area. Considering that majority of the vehicles are taken by gang members, gangs are thriving in this market.

Petrol price hike

Most recent in circles of petrol price hike has prompted commuters to dump their vehicles and exchange to public transport. In the last 4 days, over 20,000 commuters have switched over to Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) and the Ahmedabad Municipal Transport service (AMTS).
Officials in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) say the average number of passengers travelling by the BRTS was about 1.08 lakh. Since May 25, this has increased to about 1.13 lakh for every day.
On May 23, about 1.06 lakh passengers travelled by BRTS and on May 25 this increased to 1.13 lakh. AMC officials say more people will switch giving the fact that more air conditioned buses were being introduced. The traffic will further increase by about 18,000 passengers after schools and colleges reopen.
Similarly there was a increase of about 15,000 passengers for every day in the AMTS buses. Officials said the daily passenger traffic in AMTS buses was about 9 lakh. This has touched 9.20 lakh ever since the petrol prices were hiked. Rajesh Patel, who stays near Subhash Bridge says, I have to travel from Chandkheda to Paldi. I earlier used my two-wheeler but with the increase in the petrol prices, I have decided to use the BRT. I walk for nearly 500 metre to board a BRTS bus.

How to Decide on Your Auto Transport Quotes

Whenever you set out to seek a good transportation company that can deliver cars for you, then you should ask for auto transport quotes. This is the fastest way to skim through the industry where a number of companies can offer car transportation. Not every company may be suited for your needs but you will have to see which one can give you an assured delivery without any damages. Average companies are usually best suited for shorter distances because they have a limited and inexperienced staff in handling cars.

Automobiles become delicate cargo when they are on the move and they should be handled by experts only. There are many details that one has to consider when moving an automobile because issues about crossing borders and then handling cargo weight can only be done by a specialist. You can find out such important details by asking around companies or individuals who may have hired their services. They will easily give you a good and honest description how they handle their business. So, the first thing you are going to do is to ask for an auto transport quote.

This quote is going to have all details that will cover the transportation of your car. Secondly, along with your car shipping quotes you will have to see if they have any further paperwork to do. Good car shipping companies ensure that documentation is complete and all understanding is done on paper. This way there is a legal protection when you entrust your car to the company until it is delivered on time. If they handle your concern professionally then it is a good sign that they are seasoned transporters. Some of them might even reveal their clientele so that you can have your impartial opinion and this is a good way to find a good business partnership.

Shipping Your Classic Car or Any Motorcycle-Enclosed Auto Transport

When shipping a classic car or motorcycle there will be a few things you may want to take in account when considering your shipping method. For most vehicles an open transport is fine. The vehicle will be fully covered by insurance and arrives for the most part only needing to be washed. A good detail job still comes to less money than the price difference of shipping enclosed. In the case of classics and motorcycles this is not always true.
When transporting a classic vehicle you need to have a good idea of the value of the vehicle.  When shipping on a open carrier insurance limits are set to blue book values. If your classic has a retail market price higher than that of the blue book value the insurance will always pay the lesser. This is not true for enclosed carriers. Their insurance will cover all vehicles and will pay out claims based on a fair market value. As a classic car owner myself I know the blue book value of my vehicle to be not much more than the scrap weight of the steel.  While my fair market price will cover what i can expect to get for the vehicle if I were to sell it.
Unfortunately still less than i have into it but still much better than the scrap weight. When shipping a classic vehicle that you have just bought, this will get you your money back for your purchase.
When shipping a motorcycle you must take into account that open carriers are, for the most part designed for transporting cars and trucks. Vehicles with four wheels. They will have two runners the entire length of the trailer with a space in the middle. Balancing a motorcycle on one of these runners can be quite a challenge. Usually open carriers who do transport motorcycles will either bring some plywood to make a platform or have a trailer that has a full deck. But they will also run into problems with getting the bike secured for transport. Enclosed carriers on the other hand are much better suited for this transport.  They have a loading ramp. , allowing for easy loading of the bike as well as maximum securing of the motorcycle. Another great point to take into consideration will be that enclosed carriers blanket their vehicles to protect them from any scratches from tie downs or shifting during transport.
Though enclosed auto transport may cost as much as twice the open shipping price, in cases of classics and motorcycles it will be your best bet. These vehicles may not be our everyday drivers but do have more value to us than what any insurance company will say they are worth. Enclosed auto transporters are well aware of this and will spend that extra time to make sure the vehicles arrive in the same condition as they were picked up.

Auto transport brokers save you time and money on your auto shipping

It may sound ridiculous, but believe me when I tell you that it’s incredibly true. Auto transport brokerages (typically just called auto brokers) work hard to make sure that you are getting the very best in quality for your auto shipping experience, and they always make sure that you’re completely informed during all phases of the auto shipment process. It can be a daunting task, trying to get everything organized to move across the country, and auto brokers make sure that at the very least transporting your vehicle will be a breeze.
They’re much more reliable than carriers because they aren’t on a fixed schedule, and they aren’t operating heavy machinery. With a transporter, you can have mechanical failures, failure to pickup, late pickups, and much more plague your auto transport experience, and if you’re dealing directly with the carrier it can be a hassle. Not only will you have to find a new carrier, but you’d have to cancel the shipment with the current one (costing money and time), jump through a million hoops trying to get them to cancel it, and so on and so forth.
With an auto brokerage, you won’t need to go through any of that. All that you’ll need to do in the case of a carrier’s truck breaking down, or them not showing up, is to contact your auto broker and have them take care of everything. They’re trained professionals, and they know what they’re doing when it comes to auto shipping, so trust them a little bit. They can also save you money over shipping with a carrier because truckers have been known to jack prices sky high in an attempt to make the most money possible. Brokers have no need to do that, and they won’t try to take your money and run. They’re legitimate companies, and they would love your business.

How to ship a car

1. Wash your car thoroughly even if will be shipped on an open trailer. You want to be able to note any chips, dings, nicks or other cosmetic damage accurately. 2. Don’t fill the gas tank of the car. If the tank is low, between 1/8th to 1/4th of a tank, this will save quite a bit of weight. It is ok if the tank is full, but not preferred. 3. You will need to remove any household or personal goods from the car, it is against DOT policy in every state to transport them in a car during auto shipping. 4. Secure or remove any loose parts or specialty items from your car such as ground effects, spoilers, or fog lights. 5. Ship convertibles with the top up and secured properly. Try to seal any holes or open seats in the top to prevent air or moisture from causing damage. If you cannot raise the top, you should attempt to cover it with a secure fitting tarp that can resist high winds. 6.Make sure the battery is charged, that the tires have proper inflation and top off all of the fluids on the vehicle and let the driver know if there are any leaks. 7. Prepare a careful list of any operational problems or steps necessary to start, stop, or drive your vehicle on and off of the trailer. 8. Make sure you and the driver go over the condition of your car at pickup, the auto transport driver will do a full condition report of your car before he loads the unit. Be sure to look it over carefully and retain a copy. 9. Check the condition report at delivery for any changes. 10. Call you Auto Transport agent with any questions regarding shipping your car across country.

How to get your car transported?

It gets difficult for you, at times, when you are moving to a new place, to make a decision on the methods that you would opt for, for transporting your things. You have too many things on your mind – how would the new place would be? How are you going to get together in the new environment, with new people all around you, and above all, you have your problem of transporting things. One major barricade that people face is car transportation.
Driving down to your destination is totally out of question these days. One, because you might not be moving to some place close and in case you are moving abroad or to a new place on the country, at its far end, you cannot probably think of this as an option. Moreover, the soaring oil prices do not do any good too. In such circumstances, the sensible thing to do would be to get you registered with some automobile moving company for hassle free car shipping and be free from the tension.
As of today, there are numerous packers and movers in our nation, who specialize in moving automobiles. For someone like you, it could be the perfect story. All that you need to do is to find the correct agent for you. Correct agent as in the one who has services in your area and the destination area, the company’s credibility and also the service they provide. Once you are zeroed in on the agent that you like, just approach them and get your work done.
When you go to any such agent, they would take the money from you and give you a slip in return. You would need to save the receipt until your car or automobile has been delivered at your place, because that acts as the security. Moreover, these companies do not charge you any monstrous amount for their car transportation services. They always take care that the amount they quote can bring them adequate profits and also would suit your budget.
So the next time you are moving to a new place and want to get your car transported, find the best moving agent you can, and be relieved. Because as far as your car is concerned, they would deliver it safely.

Auto Shipping Brokers vs Car Transporters

The auto shipping brokers are the middlemen between the customers and the actual vehicle shippers. Brokers are many in number and they are always eager to learn about the services of the varied car shipping companies, their services and the other details that are required to learn about.
A broker keeps in mind that you have to make the most of your budget and therefore they find out the best opportunity for you. When seeking out a broker, you are looking to getting good discounts on the transport that you are requesting. What satisfies you at the end of the day is the right budget that rounds off an apt service that you are looking for.
From the auto shipping company’s point of view, a broker takes the responsibility of selling your work to the car transporter, but he does not directly ship the vehicle across the long distances. Once he contacts the shipping company with the customer, his job is finished. From there on, the car transporter shoulders the responsibility of shipping your vehicle and any distance you want.
A broker is also not involved in the insurance policy that the company is going to cover for the damages that happen on transit of your car. Truck drivers are mainly blessed with the brokers, since brokers have a wide scale of contact with them and bring work to them. Hence, this makes your task easy as a customer. To sum up all the advantages a broker brings you.

Classic Car Shipping

The decision of whether or not to ship your car can dissolve to the default when speaking of an antique or specialty car.  Driving across the country in some vintage automobile would turn a priceless investment into a bull’s-eye on wheels; no, a fully insured transport is the only way to go when dealing with that special sports or antique car.
And for these special vehicles, it is why to get all the facts.  Work with a company that has a long history of successful shipping.  Along with a great company, be sure to have all the insurance coverage you need, up to date and ready to give that extra protection and peace of mind your car and you deserve.  Lastly, consider paying a bit extra for enclosed carrier shipping.  While open carrier shipping is a safe, reliable option, vehicles are open to the elements in this style of shipping: hail, high winds, rain . . . all weather intangibles could affect your car.  Enclosed carrier shipping will basically move your automobile in an indoor setting, shielding it from all the “what if’s” that could keep you awake at night.
